We are Epic Signal, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mekanism. We solve real business problems using a strategic blend of social media, influencer marketing, and content. We do it for highly recognizable brands such as—MillerCoors, Dropbox, Ben&Jerrys, and the NFL.

The Role

The Epic Signal Brand Management team is made up of creative-minded brand leaders. We are part account managers, part brand builders, part project managers and part social strategists. The Social Brand Manager will be the go-to person for any and all things on the several accounts.

With a strong attention to detail, over the top communication skills, you are the epicenter for keeping things moving internally and with the client. In fact, people will call you both a creative’s and a client’s BFF because building and growing relationships are your passion. You are a self-assured, collaborative, creative-oriented, problem-solver who thrives in managing and sustaining current client relationships and projects, all while working closely with the Director of Social Strategy/Senior Social Strategist to identify additional growth opportunities.

It is the Social Brand Manager’s job to ensure that the values (creative, production, innovation, and beyond) of Epic Signal and Mekanism are woven into everything we do on a day-to-day level. This requires keeping our teams organized, helping to hit deadlines and supporting the business overall while making great creative. You’re expected to learn a ton, make a few mistakes, but ultimately grow into one of the few client leaders at Epic Signal.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Brand Management

  • Act as the day to day client facing account management representative on all social programs, both on all client communications, and across the Inter-Agency workflows
  • Lead the creation of SOWs and scopes, track budgets
  • Work closely with project management on schedules to ensure deliverables are executed on time and on budget
  • Lead the day-to-day workflow for client campaigns and projects, managing up to the Director of Social Brand Management and the Managing Director on an ongoing basis
  • Communicate progress to clients and internal agency teams
  • Lay the path for great creative and great relationships, every day by collaborating with Creative, Planning, Project Management and Production to develop innovative and effective uses of social technologies and work
  • Working with Social Strategy team to keep clients and internal teams up-to-date on the use/role of existing and new social media platforms
  • Manage daily communication with all teams – client, internal and partner agencies
  • Partner closely with Directors on the development of content for presentations
  • Manage weekly status meetings with the client and inner agency partners
  • Manage partner produced creative with internal teams, client teams and media partners
  • Proactively help lead the account across all partner agencies
  • Partner with Project Managers to build creative and production schedules and manage timelines and expectations with client teams throughout project
  • Build and align team to ongoing social editorial calendar, considering larger marketing mix

Build and Grow Relationships

  • Establish trust and credibility with your client counterparts and agency partners.
  • Develop strong collaborative and working relationships with the Mekanism creative, strategy, media & production teams.

Support Financial Organization and Performance

  • Develop an understanding of estimates & bids across retainer, media & production.
  • Lead monthly billing meetings and keep a close eye on monthly burn reports and travel budgets to ensure profitability of account.
  • Oversee Financial Health of Brands
    • Manage and drive the overall profitability of accounts/new business projects in partnership with GBD
    • Seek new ways to grow business across Mekanism revenue streams
    • Able to put together staffing plans and track scope

Account Administration

  • Organize meetings and calls internally and externally, to include agenda beforehand and recap within 24 business hours
  • Manage client and internal status reports
  • Assist other Epic team members should administrative support be required
  • Maintain up-to-date server organization and asset management

Management and Mentorship

  • Exude leaderships skills, especially calm and cool under pressure
  • Train, grow and motivate Social Coordinator and other Social Brand Managers to be solutions-oriented
  • Play a key role in hiring and performance reviews


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a related field required.
  • At least 4-6 years of relevant social media / advertising / experience, agency experience preferred
  • Strong technical, service, team and business management skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to keep pace with our fast moving production pipeline
  • Proven ability to plan and execute large-scale programs across multiple social platforms
  • Calm and tactful under pressure, able to juggle many tasks at once
  • Be versed in platform-specific capabilities and executions
  • Passion for the industry, competitive spirit, motivated to learn and grow
  • Experience with influencer marketing, community management, and paid social and be versed in platform-specific capabilities and executions
  • Experience managing staffing plans and tracking scope / burn
