The Role

The Brand Director for Mekanism is a passionate, collaborative, outgoing, creative-oriented leader. This position within Mekanism is a key member in our (New York) office, leading business pretty much on their own with oversight from a Group Brand Director.   

S/he is expected to effectively collaborate with Mekanism’s Creative, Strategy, Social, and Production teams – fostering a strong team mentality.  

Initial oversight will be on NASDAQ and CocaCola. This is a hybrid role on existing business with an expectation business on each brand.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and Strengthen Relationships
    • “Heels In The Hallway” or “Boots on the Ground.”  Be our senior client’s partner and confidant.
    • Understand brand’s business and generate new ideas to enhance performance.
    • Able to sense when a brand/account needs more attention before problems arise. Have a POV on how to address the challenges.
    • Able to constructively challenge client partners with the best interest in mind (creative effectiveness).
  • Make Amazing Creative
    • Gain the trust of Mekanism ECD to present and challenge the work.  
    • Find ways to push teams to think outside of the box on briefs, budgets & opportunities
    • Proven integrated production guru that can lead campaign execution independantly
  • Oversee Financial Health of Brands
    • Manage and drive the overall profitability of 2 x large accounts/new business projects in partnership with GBD
    • Seek new ways to grow business across Mekanism revenue streams
    • Able to put together staffing plans and track scope
  • Creative Brief, Strategy Development, and Sell-in Presentations
    • Partner with Strategic Planning to turn our client briefs into strong creative briefs for our creative leads.
    • Maintain a strong presentation process with our clients, making sure all creative is presented in a compelling way with a clear Mekanism POV.
    • Understand qual and quant research, with ability to flag unclear or inaccurate objectives and results.


  • You must Be Awesome and love words like innovation, storytelling, ice cream, and Mekanism.
  • You should Have 6 -10 Years of Advertising/Brand Experience (or comparable) working at an advertising agency.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a related field required.
  • You have experience working on large global brands & integrated campaigns with TV, content, print, digital and social media components.
  • You have experience successfully managing an integrated team
  • You are scrappy, positive, motivated, and passionate.  You are a master of the details and take pleasure in getting it all right.
  • No challenge is too daunting. You might not know how to do it but you figure it out.
  • You should definitely have a passion for problem solving, creativity and brands.
