The Role

The Senior Social Strategist is a highly curious, collaborative thinker. This will be a key member of the social media team, dedicated to multiple client retainers / projects across mobile gaming, VR, and tech. This role requires a deep understanding of social platforms and a passion for discovering new ways to execute brand campaigns. It will also require knowledge and participation in earned, owned, and paid tactics.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Platform Strategy

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategy and communications plans to engage audiences on behalf of multiple tech brands
  • Keep clients and Mekanism up-to-date on the use/role of existing and new social media platforms

Content Strategy

  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop innovative uses of social technologies
  • Build and align team to ongoing social editorial calendar, considering larger marketing mix

Influencer Outreach and Management

  • Identify digital influencers and online media targets, and establish key relationships that convert into meaningful coverage for brands
  • Foster and retain relationships with networks of influencers to distribute content across channels

Brand Management

  • Act as the day to day client facing account management representative on all social programs
  • Lead the creation of all SOWs and scopes, track budgets and schedules to ensure deliverables are executed on time and on budget
  • Communicate progress to clients and internal agency teams

Research and Measurement

  • Identify untapped opportunities and trends within the social landscape
  • Define social media goals, based on larger brand goals and past performance
  • Assist in establishing social media benchmarks for campaign reporting
  • Make optimizations to social media strategy based on insights from reporting


  • At least 6-8 years of relevant social media / advertising / experience, agency experience preferred
  • Strong background and past experience with managing accounts focused around technology, mobile gaming, and emerging tech like VR.
  • Strong technical, service, team and business management skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (copy edit skills a plus)
  • Ability to keep pace with our fast moving production pipeline
  • Calm and tactful under pressure, able to juggle many tasks at once
  • Be versed in platform-specific capabilities and executions
  • Passion for the industry, competitive spirit, motivated to learn and grow
  • Collaborative and outgoing, with strong leadership skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
