Key Responsibilities

We’re looking for not your average Senior Recruiter here at Mekanism. And what do we mean by that? Well, we don’t want someone to sound and act like a robot, someone who just pushes people through the interview process, someone who doesn’t care about connecting with people. Mekanism’s Talent Department prides itself on doing things differently; we see ourselves as connectors and matchmakers and understand the value of being the first impression candidates have of Mekanism.  

You’d be responsible for finding the best talent out there across the US, recruiting for roles in Brand Management, Brand Strategy, Social, Production, Operations, Media/Analytics, Project Management in San Francisco, New York, Seattle and Chicago. 

Find the best talent in the biz

  • Full cycle recruiting including sourcing, screening, managing the interview process, and offer negotiation.
  • Be comfortable to hunt and gather in both traditional and at times, bizarre ways.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews and candidate assessments by phone and/or on site.
  • Work and form relationships with internal management teams to know the ins and outs of their departments and better understand their needs.
  • Manage and maintain our presence on social media, working closely with our PR/Marketing and Social Media team to promote openings.

Push the best candidates through the Mekanism machine

  • Ensure an awesome and consistent candidate experience.
  • Be relentless in pushing candidates through the interview process, gaining consensus when necessary and being able to wrangle the most challenging interviewees.
  • Works with Talent team to on-board new hires and freelancers.

Push Mekanism forward in the advertising world

  • Gets Mek’s reputation going within the advertising circles & stays up to date on the best talent in the business by being the face of Mekanism at industry events and networking your butt off.  
  • Foster relationships with schools and host on site visits and discussions.

 

Requirements

  • 5-8 years’ experience in a high volume recruiting department within a creative agency
  • Proven experience sourcing top talent for both fulltime and freelance engagements 
  • A successful track record of identifying candidates through a variety of sourcing techniques such as portfolio reviews, social media, recruitment events, university partnerships, and networking
  • Organized and detail oriented 
  • No job too small attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves. (a.k.a, you’re cool with scheduling interviews)
  • Genuine interest in people – their experiences, stories, and motivations. And being genuine in return.
  • Strong negotiation/closing skills and creative follow through skills.
  • Secret knowledge of who the next unfound talent might be.
  • Comfort with sourcing your own candidates (vs. from a headhunter pipeline)
