The Role

The Senior Social Strategist will provide social strategy for Epic Signal’s New York office. This includes gathering insights, briefing creative, planning execution, measuring success, and optimizing content. This person is in the exciting position to expand strategy-related capabilities for the team by working hand-in-hand with functions across the agency, as well as company leadership. The Senior Social Strategist must be analytical, hands-on, tenacious, and passionate about delivering outstanding results.

You must be a team leader who has the ability to lead by example, mentor team members, get your hands dirty, and can help develop strategy-related offerings. You’re passionate about social media and actively participate in it yourself. You understand the value of supporting the soul of advertising with the science of data and analytics.

 Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Be a social media maven
    • Ability to oversee strategy and execution across a variety of disciplines:
      • Earned and paid promotion
      • Community management
      • Influencer marketing
      • Strategic partnerships
      • Integration of above the line and social campaigns
    • Be well versed in the various earned, owned, and paid media opportunities in social
    • Develop and execute large-scale programs across multiple platforms
    • Collaborate with account, strategy, creative, influencer, and channel management teams


  • Act as a data-driven storyteller
    • Keep clients up-to-date on the use / role of social media platforms
    • Conduct social listening and qual / quant social analysis to uncover brand insights
    • Develop creative briefs and senior-level social strategies based on research findings
    • Assist clients in setting social goals, then develop recommendations to exceed them
    • Partner with Mekanism Media to pair organic social strategy with paid media strategy
    • Evaluate and measure campaign results against objectives
    • Optimize strategy based on insights from campaign reporting
  • Manage and grow a team
    • Responsible for mentoring a growing team
    • Will play a key role in hiring and performance reviews
    • Exudes leaderships skills, especially calm and cool under pressure


  • Contribute to Epic Signal New Business Opportunities
    • Participate in leading social strategy for new business pitches
    • Identify and sell incremental opportunities within existing accounts


  • Commit to continuous learning; set, pursue, and stretch goals
    • Develop relationships with representatives from each social platform
    • Invite representatives to Epic Signal for on-site learning sessions
    • Attend / speak at workshops and conferences on behalf of Epic Signal



  • 7-9 years of experience in advertising and social media
  • Excellent communication / presentation skills
  • Be versed in platform-specific capabilities and executions
  • Analytical mindset with ability to understand how social campaigns deliver on company goals
  • Proven ability to plan large-scale programs across multiple social platforms
  • Success in presenting strategic solutions that engage consumers and build brands
  • The ability to work and thrive in a complex and fast growing environment
  • Innate curiosity and aptitude with the ability to see the big picture as well as be hands-on
  • Experience with influencer marketing, community management, and paid social
  • Experience managing and growing a team
  • Bachelor’s Degree
